Dear Parents and Families,
Thanks to all that came out to our Annual Fall Book Fair, and to our individual grade level Curriculum Night presentations this month. It is so important for parents to take that interest in what their children are doing at school, and to support them in their efforts to achieve. We are looking forward to our Walkathon on Friday the 21st. Encourage your child to collect donations and sponsorships for the walkathon. They can also bring money to purchase shaved ice and ice cream from the Kona ice truck. Lake Gem receives a percentage of all of these proceeds. We also have an exciting free health fair coming to us that day, with many local health care providers bringing their services such as mobile mammography, blood pressure checks, cholesterol screenings,etc.. We have invited our neighborhoods and community to participate in our health fair and to walk with us that day. Parents, you are more than welcome also!!
Our campus will be closed for the Thanksgiving holidays. We have had an increase in vandalism in recent weeks, and would appreciate our neighbors watching out for any activity on campus. If you do see people loitering on campus, please alert the police.
Our students have made such incredible gains already this year! We are so proud of all of their accomplishments and achievements. Lake Gem is a family, and is truly a wonderful school. I am so thankful to be a part of such a dedicated and caring school family and community.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your families. School does resume on Monday, December 1st.!
Sincerely,
Patty Harrelson
Principal
